Since Japan opened its doors to the world, many have been captivated by its magic and exoticism.
Okami is initiated in response to that drunkenness and has prompted us to create this project. Being aware of the passion that awakens this cuisine, we have started launching a restaurant, where the taste for their algae and fish combine with that peculiar way of presenting their dishes, deities the nature.
That way we create a bridge connecting from gastronomy, to other fascinating cultural aspects as communication through language or anime, art in subjects like tea ceremony, origami, ikebana ceramic or join to weave a great tapestry that awaken our senses and envelop us in an authentic Japanese experience.
For this we have the valuable support of experts in culinary matters as Ryoko or Takeshi; in teaching, Atsuko Mochisuki; in music, Keiko; and pottery, Akiko Matsuda.
For all this we want Okami is more than a restaurant. It was born to become a symbol, a bridge between two cultures, distant in space but united in the hearts of those who want this alliance.
This way Olha Grymierski, the director, defines the philosophy of the restaurant.
